From Experience to Expertise

The EQUiiP partnership, Freiburg 12 & 13 June, 2019

In this final EQUiiP conference, the partnership presented its outcomes to a wider international audience. The conference included a number of taster session and strategic discussions. During the day I engaged with participants on leadership challenges when transforming universities through internationalization. Together with my colleague Stacy Cozart, Arhus University, I presented the International Competency Profile for Educational Developers. I also share the first research results on the added value of the EQUiiP CPD programme.

In this interactive in-house training I worked with staff members of the faculty of Health and Medical Studies on designing a pre-departure and re-entry workshop for medical students, who will study or work abroad.

Review of the International Office University of Bath, UK (2019).

The University of Bath has the strategic to further enhance its international reputation. The review focused on how to best position and resource the International Office in the wider university organization to help the university in achieving this ambition. I contributed to this review as an external expert and member of the review panel. The panel identified a number of quick wins and also recommended a number of longer term organizational changes.

A recording was made of my conversation with the president of Karolinksa Institute, Prof Ole Petter Ottersen, about the relationship between the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Internationalisation of Higher Education. EQUiiP Winter School Designign and Teaching Inclusive International Programmes

In the Madrid Winter School the continuous professional development programme (CPD) for educational developers has been tested. We further tested the International Competence Profile for educational developers and final alignment with the CPD programme. This programme formed the pre-cursor to the book Internationalising Programmes in Higher Education: an Educational Development Perspective
